Good Evening.

When we bought this house, a little over three years ago, the sellers asked us if we wanted to keep the telephone in the kitchen.

It's an old-school dial telephone, wall-mounted, and doesn't work very well. (Were one to try to use it, one can hear just fine but whoever's on the other end can't hear you. I suppose that's easy enough to fix.)

We politely declined their offer to take it off our hands.

Why? Several reasons.

First and foremost, it rings. A lovely, metallic ring. No beeping or chirping or anything but metal hitting metal.

Moreover, it's a dial telephone, and I want my kids to know what it looks like, even if they never use one.

What's this have to do with a blog? Not much, in all honesty. I'm curious where this goes.
